Goats in FS25: What to Expect from the New Animals
In the highly anticipated Farming Simulator 25, developers from Giants Software continue to expand the possibilities for farmers, introducing new types of animals to the game. This time, goats are joining our virtual farms, promising to become an essential part of agricultural life, just like other species.
Today, we'll take a closer look at what’s new in working with goats, what unique aspects of their care to expect, and how they can benefit your farm.
Goats have long been valued as a source of milk and meat. In real life, goat milk is renowned for its nutritional value, so we can expect it to become a profitable resource in the game as well.
In Farming Simulator 25, goats will compete with cows and water buffalo as they can also produce milk. They might become a new profitable income stream in the game. But goats aren't just small "milk machines."
Their introduction brings more variety to livestock farming, opening up new possibilities for farmers. We can likely expect many exciting mechanics and unique features specific to this species of domestic animal.
You will be able to purchase goats in the same way as other animals—through the standard purchase menu available by default. An interesting detail is that we can buy both adult goats and baby goats. Choosing to raise baby goats gives farmers the chance to grow these animals from the ground up. At first, they'll simply graze on the pasture, and later, they’ll start producing milk.
When deciding which goats to purchase, consider how much time you have. While adult goats require less care, they also yield less profit compared to raising young goats from scratch.
Let's briefly cover some key aspects of goat care:
Animal Age. Goats start as kids and grow into full-fledged milk-producing animals. It's important to monitor their growth and health.
Feeding. Developers haven't provided exact details on goat feeding yet, but it’s likely to be similar to cows and buffalo. These animals typically feed on grass, so goats will likely be able to graze on pastures as well. Additionally, special purchasable feed for goats may be available, so food supplies shouldn’t be an issue.
Pastures. Pastures are becoming an active gameplay element in the game. Goats will be able to eat grass, adding realism to the experience. The question remains as to how much pastures will impact animal productivity. We don’t yet know whether grazing will provide tangible benefits for the animals or if it’s more of a visual element. However, it's safe to say that this is a great addition that will help save money on feed.
The main thing we’re interested in when raising goats is, of course, milk. This is where we'll make our profits in Farming Simulator 25.
Once goats reach adulthood, they start producing milk. This milk can be used to produce various goods, such as goat cheese. It’s worth noting that goat milk is valued higher than cow's milk in real life, and it's likely to be priced higher in the game too. Its high value comes from the many nutrients it contains, making it a sought-after commodity on the market.
Thus, goats can become a significant source of income for your farm.
At present, it’s known that milk will be available in two types of packaging:
Metal cans. This is the traditional method of storing milk, which you’ll be able to use on your farm.
Plastic containers. Special plastic containers will be stored in wooden crates, adding variety and visually looking quite appealing.
Goat milk in Farming Simulator 25 can be processed into goat cheese—a product that will likely be highly valued on the market.
Milk processing opens up new profit opportunities, and goat cheese could become a real "gold mine" for farmers who choose to specialize in this direction.
Of course, you’ll be able to sell milk as is, directly from the goats. But this will result in much lower profits. It's well-known that running any product through further production chains increases its value, leading to higher profits in the end, although this will require some time and effort investment.
The introduction of goats in Farming Simulator 25 adds variety to livestock farming.
Let’s briefly summarize what to expect in FS25 with the addition of this new type of livestock:
Goats will be a source of milk and raw materials for goat cheese production.
Feeding and care for goats will likely be similar to other animals, with an emphasis on using pastures.
The addition of active pastures will make animal care more interactive and visually engaging.
Products from goats will probably be highly valued on the market, making them a profitable investment for breeding.
Farming Simulator 25 continues to delight us with new mechanics, and the inclusion of goats is a step toward even greater depth in farming simulation. We will undoubtedly keep an eye on the development of this system, especially since the developers promise even more new features in the future.
